It is possible to change?

This week we started a new Fuel season where close to 300 men and women are taking one of 14 classes available to them. The classes range from spiritual leadership for men to learning to be WILD for the women. Content for some classes include learning to study your bible, new parenting techniques, sharing your faith, even an ESL class. And as people start their classes I am reminded of a recent conversation I had with someone where they asked me,'Is it REALLY possible to change?' I am always taken by how powerful God is in peoples lives simply because I know how powerful He has been in mine. Over the next 6 weeks I will share stories of how God is still in the business of doing miracles. Do you believe Jesus can change you? I believe He can because He has changed me. And maybe as you read some of these stories you will be encouraged to believe that God can change you. There is nothing God can't redeem, restore or rebuild...do you believe it? If you would like to sign up for any Fuel class go to www.thecrossing.com/fuel. You can join anytime throughout the 6 weeks, everyone is welcomed!

  1. My ESL Esperince,

I decisively chose this season to sit out on taking any FUEL classes because after being at The Crossing for a little over 3 years I've pretty much taken just about every FUEL class offered in their season. I know there is no doubt that this new season of FUEL sessions are no less powerful than any other in the past, I just chose to sit out this season and pick it back up again in January or RE-FUEL next year.

But seeing as how I do LOVE being a part of the group experience and learning more of God's guidance for my life, I chose to go a different route and be of service and participate in the ESL classes as a tutor or what we're called by or instructor-TEACHER.

Now I don't see myself as a "teacher" but it's interesting to think that the person I'm sitting with thinks so. I kind of feel like someone with knowledge like a "teacher".

But seeing as how last night was the first night of class I must admit I think I DID GOOD! I made the right choice sitting out the "traditional" Fuel classes. Not because I feel superior but because if just felt RIGHT to be helping others in my community at my church become part of "the community".

The looks on those students faces, those eyes full of desire for knowledge to grasp what you and I take for granted-the way we speak. The FUN we all had being taught by our instructors Bill and Michelle was worth me missing any of those other terriffic, dynamic sessions of this season's FUELs.

I'm going to enjoy sitting with others and watching them grow. I'm sure I'm probably going to grow a little more from this "teacher/student" experience myself.

But then isn't that what FUEL'S all about??
