This Saturdays Spiritual Retreat

Just a week away!! I love these day retreats because it’s a personal and experiential way to reconnect with Jesus!

During the day of the retreat you will be doing a personal inventory, learn about spiritual practices like prayer, bible study and meditation. Not only will you learn about them but you will have the time to immediately apply them! There will also be 3 kinds of discussion you will have that will strengthen your understanding of the topic through extended alone time with the Lord, small group discussions as well as class discussions with the entire class.

Time: This Saturday from 9am-3pm
Location: O’neil Park http://www.ocparks.com/oneillpark/
Cost: $10. You will pay $5 to get in the park. When you get to the gate tell them you are from the Crossing and they will direct you to the conference room. Your other $5 can be paid to us when you get in the conference room. You might want to carpool, if you do let me know and I can send you the list of people coming.
What about food? Bring drinks, snacks and your lunch. In order to keep the cost down we will NOT be providing food so make sure you bring something from home.
Bring: Your lunch and drinks for the day, lawn chair, Bible, journal, pen and jacket in case it’s a bit cold. We will still have the day retreat even if it rains a bit, I don’t think it’s supposed to but if it does we will use the room more but I still believe it will be a good time of rest with the Lord.

Theme Verse for Saturday is the verse we have been meditating on during this series 1 Corinthians 13 “1 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails."…now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13. I encourage you to begin to meditate on this verse throughout the week!
